Motorcycle Diaries

Just saw this tonight. What a great movie! Only now I want to give up writing and performing in order to pursue my True Calling, working in a Peruvian Leper Colony. Do you think they put on plays in leper colonies? Are they Equity gigs? Anyone want to start "Calgary's Only Completely Leprose! Completely Incan! Improvised Soap Opera"?

I've discovered it's easy to be a Communist as long as your leader is really attractive. And if he's sad-eyed, altruistic and asthmatic, all the hotter. Go, Che! Viva la Revolucion! Strip me down, paint me red, and roll me up like a Cuban cigar; I'm in.

Walking out of the cinema I feel a heaviness: a combination of guilt about buying a car, and a creeping responsibility for Freeing South America from its Corporate Chains. A sigh escapes; a kind of, "Oh Well. Enough farting around Calgary. Better pick up where I left off and get on that whole People's Revolution thing."

But don't worry, it won't last. I'll just go to Starbucks tomorrow and drink coffee until I forget ALLLLL about it...
